Document Preview

On this screen, we show a Back button, an Action button, a visual preview of page one and two rotation arrow buttons. Tapping on the image, Preview or Viewer button opens the document using two different viewers:

The two rotation buttons allow you to rotate the document ninety degrees in order to properly orientate the document for viewing. As an example, faxes can sometimes be sent upside down. These buttons can correct the issue as well as deal with PDF documents that are printed in the wrong orientation.

On the bottom of the iPad screen we show the full file name of the document and the document MIMEType. You can copy any document into our apps, however we only work with a few hundred document types. So the MIMEType is used to understand what the document is. For example, a PDF is a com.adobe.pdf, a TIFF is public.tiff and a FITS is public.data.

Note:

Our less expensive line of products may use the Apple Document Preview Viewer to show image documents.

For Microsoft Office and basic text documents, we use the Apple Ddocument Viewer. Otherwise, TIFF, PDF, FITS and other image documents are shown in our custom viewers which avoid the restrictions Apple's document viewer has regarding page or document sizes.
